I had the same problem and a few others with a ASUS P2B motherboard. No
matter what I tried the zip drive showed up as the b floppy drive. Also
tried the none and Auto option. My problem turned out to a bad motherboard.
After 2 weeks of struggling with a video problem or the zip drive I asked
the dealer to just give me a new motherboard. I installed the new
motherboard and both my video card and the zip were properly recognized and
installed. This was the first time I had run into a problem like this too.
Also the new motherboard had a newer bios then the old motherboard had, so
am not sure what cured the problem, the new motherboard or the upgraded
bios. Have you checked to see whether there is a newer bios for your
motherboard yet?
