Sounds to me like your just about set, you just need a crossover cable if
you are only using two machines, if you want to use anymore though you will
need a hub, you can buy a premade crossover cable if you don't have the
tools to make it yourself from a computer parts store, and yes you'll be
able to share your drives, printers, and even setup a simple proxy server
such as wingate to share your Internet connection too, good luck.
