        He faked it.  We learned in collage that he faked it.  He -knew-
what traits to look for, and when given a plant called "devil's broom" he
could not get the 3:1 chi square to work out right.  Check for articals
with the author of "Lewantin" or some spelling like that, and the subject
of "Mendal" or some spelling like that.  One of his traits,
round/wrinkled, is actually bassed on a defect in a gene, rather than in
a real gene.  It's all in the article, which is still packed some place.
I'll get the information to you if I can remember this next week.
