Well sure.  Just look at the recent descriptions of cooking methods of the
Indians in the Canadian wilderness for a description of just how clever and
varied those hearty hunter/gatherers were for finding interesting ways to
prepare (or not prepare!) their food.

Nevertheless they were highly limited in technology, they had a limit on
how many spices and such they had access to, and it's certainly not
imaginable that you're going to see this kind of thing where you go out and
find 20 pounds of grass seeds, thresh it, grind it, mix it, let it rise,
bake it in an oven, etc. etc.  It's basically all going to be the kind of
thing you can cook over an open fire, or perhaps on a flat heated rock, or
that you can boil in an antelope's stomach, or things along that line.
