Does anyone know anything interesting about chocolate with relation to
effects in the digestive tract? I guess it's not paleo unless your
ancestors came from near the equator (I wonder how long ago people
starting using it as food?). I did some research on it and found it
interesting to note that it's a parasiticide. Also phenylethylamine
(PEA) is a vasodilator which could explain why women are attracted to it
when they are low in estrogen (also a vasodilator). Chocolate is
definitely an unusual food--seems like more of a drug. The cocoa beans
are fermented before they are roasted which I also find interesting.
Anyone have any interesting articles? Mary J.
