Starting point: (-1)^(-1) = -1
Applying logarithms: (-1)*ln(-1) = ln(-1)
Since ln(-1) <> 0, dividing: -1 = 1 (ln(-1) is
complex, but exists)

You can check from markings at the bottom of the chip, but
probably your P166 required a supply of 3.4 to 3.6V, so
nominal 3.5V is correct.
So it probably died for other reason (stopped fan, power
supply out of tolerance, bad luck, etc).
However, all this is supposing that you refer to a classical
P166. MMX166 is completely different (3.3V/2.8V).
