The modem itself is pretty much a user preference, I like Zoom for example.
What you should definitely get is a hardware modem, not a Winmodem. Most
Winmodems require at a least a P100, sometimes a P133 CPU. Some generic modems
with the Rockwell chipset are having problems with certain ISPs, you may want
to consider a Lucent chipset if you get a generic modem.
