How are you booting your computer now that you've done the "fdisk and
format"? Are you still booting off the recovery disk or off the hard drive?
When you formatted the hard drive did you include the "s" flag? It sounds
like you have accomplished what you set out to do. The "Starting Windows
95" message is coming from whatever you are using to boot your computer now.
