If the computers were workstations then no ther is nothing Novell did to
them, If servers the fdisk and format cleaned them off.

The big question is in the Fdisking did you set one of the partitins you
created to be the Active one?
a disk fdisked, formatted, and loaded with dos will not boot becasue the
system does not know which partition to boot from unless one is marked
active.  (simple explanantion)
