I have just installed an external StorageTek/Clarion Raid on my NetFrame Novell server. Reading through their materials - they have support for multiple flavors of UNIX - through I did not see LINUX.

I found their product very good (I had to spend time to find a replacement for my existing CORE/AWIA raid's since they have gone out of that business) and have very good technical support.

I purchased this from StorageTek - if you need local numbers - I'm in DC I can give them but you may be better with an 800 number or web site

Top of the day to you all...

I am investigating SCSI RAID controllers that have Linux
driver support. I am looking for some anecdotal information
about a quality solution to attach 8 bay drive hot swappable
drive cases, using SCSI Ultra2 (68pin) external cables to
a server in a mid-sized network. The cases are 19" rackmounts.

I am aware the Adaptec RAID controllers do not have Linux
driver support. I have been investigating Mylex cards. Anyone
have any practical experience with Mylex and Linux? Any
other brand recommendations would also be appreciated.

Also, if anyone knows of a complete solution in a drive chassis
as follows:
   (8) hot swap drive bays
    redundant 300watt power supply
    onboard RAID hot swap controller
    Linux supported

I would appreciate your advice. Vendor and manufacture sources
are mostly needed.

Thanks
