My case has ONE solid brass post. One "slip" post, broken so the
MB can "slide" with thermal expansion, I guess. And some plastic ones.
The solid post goes through a hole that connects to NOTHING
on the board. Seems to be located wrong to me. Or does it ground
somewhere else?

well.... There should be a screw going through the motherboard into the metal
post. This grounds the Motherboard to the case.
