I should know the answer to this question but a problem has come up with someone
who has had the blood test and it came back negative. When I checked to see
what lab they used, it was not done at any of the three labs we all know about.
It was done at Nichols in California. When I spoke to someone at our local lab,
he said he has worked for various labs and done the test in house.

My questions is--should we as people very involved in celiac disease recommend
to those persons looking for a diagnosis, to use ONLY the labs we know about. I
am really concerned that many celiacs are not getting the proper diagnosis, due
to the lab that is doing the test. One of the hospitals here in RI claims they
do the test in house also.

I think this is a very important issue.
