Hi folks,
re: my inquiry about the proper tests to ask for when I visit my doctor. The
statements below pretty much sum it up. THANKS so much to all you helpful
people:
<<For CD, ask for Anti-Gliadin (IgA and IgG)
Anti-Reticulin
Anti-endomysium
Transglutaminase if they have it.
Stick to the four labs mentioned in Vance's summary; they have been evaluated
by Joe Murray as the reliable ones>>>
<<Many CD patient's have HH and don't know it. Go to www.americanhs.org for
the list to take to doctor of the tests. Print it out for him/her to see is
the best way. The four blood tests are: serum ferritin, serum iron,
transaturation, TIBC They are easy, cheap but need to be requested as they
are not on a routine blood panel.>>
