Is this new drive the master now or is it the slave? Did you use the compaq
quick restore CD or are you installing a clean OS?

Your unit probably has SW warranty support still. Call 1-800-OKCOMPAQ and ask
them the hard d rive specs for your unit. I think the largest drive it'll
support is 1.2G.
