Rudy,
The bigboxers are not trying to leave a legacy - they don't expect to survive
as a business that long.  They are not in business to be righteous - but to
sell stuff. If the stuff wears out the consumer will be back to buy more.
Their buildings are expected to last as long as their need for them.  They ARE
built as enclosures and only their signage has any relevance.
