Rob:
If you set your video card on a very high refresh rate,
and your monitors are not able to run that fast, it is
possible to burn out the monitors.
You may also want to check your current and surge
suppressor anyway (recommend you get a UPS).
Give us the make and model of your video card
and monitors. You might want to check out the
website of your video card maker.

John Chin
P.S.:
To those of you who post problems with
equipment, it would help if you identify the
make and model of such equipment and
any related components.
