Here I mentioned only what i read in another newsgroup
but what I can't verify otherwise:
Red blood-cells could die in the feet in the course of running by the
pressure when hitting the ground, and then beeing
transported outside the body via the spleen,
as I understood it.
Key point was: without any bleeding wounds
(and without womans' period)
men don't have any pathway to get rid of iron.
In this way iron can accumulate on the body, if
constantly new iron is ingested by the means of
heme iron from meats.
An overload of iron can cause a damage to the imune system
to the heart and to antioxidants on the body.
