Dear Members,

Recently, there was a discussion of possible intolerances and allergies
to newly engineered, once tolerated, foods. Cruising around the web
brought this site to my attention:
http://www.skyisland.com/OnlineResources/

There is an article about the dangers of genetically altered foods and
reactions to soy beans. To be brief: a soy bean variety was bred with
genes from brazil nuts and the blood serum from people who are allergic
to the nuts-there was an allergic reaction in most of these people. The
conclusion of this experiment was that the allergenicity had passed
along the transferred genes.

OH BOY! Here we go! Is this a whole new can of worms for CS folks to
worry about?
