I read with great interest all the responses for dealing with
non-responding families who pile on gluten laden foods for you. Coming
from a teacher of Public Speaking, this suggestion may seem odd, but I
am pretty sure it will work in many, if not most situraations.

Many people, esp if the speaker is female, do not give a great deal of
credence to what is SAID. They will, however, accept the WRITTEN WORD.
Try writing a letter, carefully explaining what you can and cannot have.
Use KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) and outline it in bare bones context.
Lists are easy to follow. Somehow, people resond better to this. I
think part of it is the feeling that if you took the time to write it,
it must be important. Keep it short and loving, even tho many of them
deserve a hit on the head.

You might also suggest that the letter/list be kept on the frig for
reference.

Ann
