Thanks to all who responded to my question regarding having my children
tested (blood tests) for CD. I am the celiac so my children are first
degree relatives. I soon have the opportunity to have them tested and
wasn't sure if I wanted to put them through the blood test (they are 14
months and 2 1/2 years old). Based on the responses, I've decided it is
worth it to be sure they are OK right now:

* 75% of those who responded felt it was worth it to ensure the children
are OK now. There was some concern with false results of the blood tests
and all felt it was necessary to follow-up with a biopsy if the results
were positive. Most who fell in this category also have children and have
the blood tests done every 2 or so years.

* 25% felt the children should not be tested as long as they were sympton
free. False results were again a primary concern.
