Good morning:
Any fellow Canadian celiacs who are taking synthroid? I've been
prescribed it, because I just got my blood tests back from being on
Eltroxin (same as synthroid) for 2 1/2 months, and now I'm going
hyper. My TSH levels are now 0.03 (normal lab 0.35 - 5.50, before I
went on this is was 8.5!) and my T4 is now 28.4 (normal lab 11.5 - I
think 20? before medication it was at 11.2!) That explains the heart
beating like a rabbits 24 hrs/day, and nervous energy!!! Eltroxin
doesn't come in a lower dose but some ingredients in Synthroid are
questionable, like confectioners sugar, acacia, povidone, talc??? I
have a call into the head office to the drug company Knoll, in
Toronto, so hopefully someone there will let me know, but if any of
you Canadians are taking it, I believe the dose he subscribed is
0.08, could you let me know (I know a lot of you folks in the United
States take it, but of course the two countries may be different).
Thanks for any insight you can give me.
