Here is the summary of the responses received on the above subject.

1. Although there is not a 100% consensus, most researchers and GF dietary
specialists indicate that grain vinegar is indeed GLUTEN FREE, as the
distillation process eliminates gluten.

2. This view is also confirmed by some individuals on a GF diet who eat
grain vinegars without any side effect.

3. Whatever is not derived from gluten-containing grains (corn, red and
white wine, apple, ....) is, almost by definition, GLUTEN FREE.

4. If you do not share the view as per point 1 above, avoid food including
"grain vinegar" in the ingredient list, as it could be made with corn
(safe) but also with wheat, barley, etc. Manufacturers may change the type
of grains they use in vinegar depending on product availability, season,
cost.

5. As an aside, it would seem that Lea & Perrins Worchester Sauce is indeed
GF, as it is made with corn vinegar.
