The biggest issue I've found with this release is the synthesizer support
issue, namely what they do and don't support. The long and short of things
is that you either need the Soft Voice product, available from the
Productivity Works for something like $65 extra, or Access 32, the software
Dectalk synthesizer. They say they support some SAPI synthesizers but the
support info makes this sound a bit mysterious. For those who had used
SSIL synthesizers with earlier versions as far as I know you are still out
of luck.

The text at

http://www.prodworks.com/pwwr2_updates.htm

talks about having support for SSIL in service release 1 or 2 and mentions
this would be available in August. A support person from the company
promised to email me when such was available and neither the web pages or
my receiving an email tells me that SSIL support exists today. If I'm
wrong I'd love to be corrected.

When I talked with the company about this back in July, they gave me a
version of the program that allowed access to Soft Voice at no extra charge
until SSIL support was available. I asked if this was something they were
doing for anyone who had a current support contract and was told yes but
several people have emailed me with different results.

I can't comment on the actual enhancements of the program. I have used it
sparingly as the Soft Voice synthesizer wasn't personally to my liking.
