I have a 3 month old no name 24 speed (supposedly) CD ROM drive that has
developed intermittent problems.

I have bench marked this CD drive with Norton utilities and EZ CD Creator
Deluxe and it tests out just a little bit better then my six speed Teac. I
just wrote this off to a inexpensive no name drive but now another problem
has developed.

Sometimes when installing a program or copying directories I hear
clicking noises and the process takes an inordinate time or fails
completely...even causing my PC to crash.

Is it time to try to get an exchange ....probably more hassle then it's
worth ....or is there something I could try first?

Thanks for the help!
mark
