Hi everyone,

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to everyone who has taken the
time to write e-mail letters to the National Park Service regarding the FDR
Memorial. Thus far, I have had 120 e-mails ccd to me.

I encourage all of you who have NOT yet written to do so very soon. The FDR
Memorial hearings will be held THIS Monday, March 9th at 10:00am. I also
ask that you contact all of your e-mail lists as well as friends and family
and ask them to write a letter, as well. It would make a huge impact to
have a FLOOD of letters supporting a STATUE of FDR hit the NPS over the
weekend. You can send your e-mail to: [log in to unmask]

Remember, when composing your letter, to specifically ask for a STATUE of
FDR. The problem we are facing now is that some FDR Memorial Committee
members are in favor of a lesser depiction of FDR in his wheelchair --
perhaps a mural or a bas relief -- so it is key that you are very clear that
you would like to see a STATUE.

If you would like pointers on preparing your letter, please let me know. I
am also willing to help edit letters. I will be doing another online open
forum discussion/writing workshop tomorrow morning (Friday, March 6) from
10amEST - 11:30amEST. I will be available on the undernet (IRC) on a
channel named FDR_Memorial. My nick will be jillNOD. Join me if you can!

Again, thanks for all of the support, and please encourage others to keep
the letters coming.

Sincerely,

Jill Jacobs
