It is interesting that the Ragged Edge Article on disability rights tends
to equate the term "disability" with an aparrent inability to walk. It is
foolish to target civil rights groups for their inability to come to terms
with disability. Blacks, women and gays had to fight for themselves in
order to be noticed. Ignorance is an emotional, as well as an intelectual
thing and the problem will not go away or become less pressing just because
the ideological positions of the audience are principly sound.
