Just as a piece of information, I have been able to use Text Bridge from
Xerox in Windows 95 with both Window Eyes and Jaws for Windows.
This software came for free with a $149 flatbed scanner. It works quite
well and is as accurate as any of the blind only packages that I have used
in the past. The software is a PC Magazine editors choice award winner
and consistantlly scores either #1 or #2 in comparison tests of the
various commercial packages.
One might need sighted help in the start up screen on the install disk,
but none is required after that. The first screen did not talk in Window
Eyes when I did the install, but all others did. I don't know about a
Jaws install, but it can be run from either after that.
It sure beats spending overr $1000 for a scanner and Arkenstone or
Oscar!!!
I will be glad to help anybody who wants to try using the software. There
is one spot that is trickey to figure out, but once you know about it, it
is easy from then on.
