After recently putting a system together, it takes approximately 1 minute to
run the POST.
The system comprises of:
P-599 ATX Motherboard with 8meg Video, and Sound onboard.
350Mhz AMD K6-2
128 Meg DIMM
5 Gig WD HD
AMI BIOS
Running Windows 98.. I've checked and re-checked the BIOS settings, changed a
few things, still to no avail. Win 98 is definitely not the problem, it runs
smoothly. If anyone has an idea as to the cause of this slow boot-up, please
drop me a line.
I do have another computer with an AMD 100Mhz, 1.2 Gig HD, AT board, regular
video and modem... The bootup is approx 10 seconds (POST) I would think that
the faster CPU means a faster bootup.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Charly Coles.
