I never have been satisfied with MS's solutions for file transfer in any
version of the Windows O/S.
For small jobs, I use an external ZIP drive.  For larger jobs, I slap in a
spare NIC and hook it up to
my network.

Life was sooo much simpler in the old days.... hook up a cable to the
printer ports, boot the PCs to DOS and in less than three minutes total
time, files were flying back and forth between the PCs.  sigh......
