I think most (if not all) 56k modems will work on a Pentium I PC. I have
an Actiontec v.90 56K modem, and it requires a Pentium 75 Mhz or above (with a
PCI slot available, IRQ available, and Win95 or Win98). Some modems,
specifically the winmodem types, require CPU use, so it's necessary a "fast"
computer, but a Pentium is fast enough.
