From the symptoms you have described in your post it sounds like either the
machine is crashing allot or not being shutdown properly. The other times I
have seen errors like this is with memory improperly used (pc66 memory used
in place of PC 100 memory). also trying to overclock a system can run into
the same kind of errors. I am guilty of that I overclocked my P233 to 266
and all was well until I had to let my SO have the DIM and I used her EDO
memory. I was having all kinds of those type errors.after I put the system
back to the designated speed it ran just fine. HTH
