I have a ThinkPad 760 to which I am trying to enable the IDE to Parallel
port DataTank with a 3.2 Gig Samsung harddrive installed. This is one of
the external drive boxes that attached to the parallel port and allows any
IDE (or ATA/ATAPI device) to be accessed. The DataTank is designed to work
with the EPP parallel port setting. Now the problem.

The settings for the ThinkPad parallel port are via a ThinkPad Features
app. It shows Uni-Directional, Bi-Directional, EPP and ECP as choices in
the advanced settings. However the EPP setting is grayed out. Help for
this setting implies that it should be available. The exact working is:

"Operating mode a) Select Bi-directional when you connect a standard printer.
                b) Select Uni-directional if you connect a PC/AT compatible
device.
                c) Select EPP or ECP when you use an EPP/ECP compatible
device. You may need to install the appropriate device driver or software
for it."

The DataTank installs the driver for the DataTank IDE to Parallel port for
EPP mode. But I cannot figure out if there is supposed to be a special
driver for the parallel port itself to support the EPP mode so I can set
the port to EPP mode.

Any suggestions?
