Tom,
Some point to Linux as the modern day equal to dos in offering blind
persons powerful computer tools in a mainstream computer environment with
a command line interface. how realistic is this option for many blind
computer users and where do you think this option will be in the next
couple of years?

Which should in no way imply that the use of dos type operating systems
is by any means dead!
I know many engineers who still use dos as I do, sighted as well as
blind.
It is fast, it is simple, and for many applications, it is just as
effective
in actually getting work done as anything else.
Personal opinion only, just couldn't resist.
