There has been a lot of discussion on the JFW list as to which encyclopedia
might be speech friendly. Most of them stress pictorial presentations and
are very difficult to access with speech. Encyclopedia Britanica has a
delux version, which is hard to use, and a text version, which is
accessible. There is a web site where you can sign up for a week's free
trial of Britanica online.

You can purchase the encyclopedia for around $100 or pay something like $8
per month to have complete online access.
