Hello all,

        I have a friend who has an old IBM PS/1 with the original modem in
it.  He said he thinks it's a 9600 modem.  The operating system is
Windows 3.1.  He was wanting to buy a 56K modem for it and I thought
I remember reading somewhere that not all 56K modems would work with
Windows 3.1.  Am I remembering this correctly? Or was there
something else about incompatibility between 3.1 and a 56K modem?
        Also, are there any proprietary issues for us to worry about as we
jump into this project together?


Any advice would be greatly appreciated....
