Wouldn't a National Code be sweet-

This past summer I'm down at the Town of
Oyster Bay [est @ 1680] building
department
trying to pull a permit. Every thing was
going smoothly until it turned out that
the person scheduled to be in charge
of "separating" that day was out.
I've been around a few Bldg. Depts &
this was a new one on me.
I turned out that the separator pulled
off the perforated holder on the NCR
sheets, handed
them to the filer who in turn would give
me the yellow copy.

Of course this is the same town that
when I asked about purchasing a copy of
the Code
greeted me with incomprehension & a
mumbled reference to the " BOCA as
amended"
& a shelf of loose-leaf binders was
pointed out. We needed a dispensation in
'85 to platform
[as opposed to balloon frame] a house.
