Just trying to keep my fellow advocates, activists, educators, and business leaders on their academic toes.  Here are the answers to today's questions. Only two people aced the quiz.  Most (16 of 22) got at least two or more wrong.  Hit those books!!

(1) Name the states that are listed under the category "Midwest" by the U.S. Bureau of Census.

Answers:
North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana
Michigan, Ohio

(2) What's the Largest City in Kansas?


Answer:  Witchita, Kansas
Wichita City   pop. 329,211
Kansas City   pop. 141,297

Note: The Missouri Side of Kansas City has 441,574 people, which makes it the largest city in Missouri. St. Louis is second with 339,316.  Interesting note: It is estimated that between 1990 and 1998, the population of St. Louis declined by 57,000 people.  

(3) What City has the largest population in Ohio?

Answer:    City of Columbus

Cleveland city     pop. 495,817    
Cincinnati city    pop. 336,400   
Toledo city         pop. 312,174   
Akron city          pop. 215,712  
Dayton city         pop. 167,475    

(4) Which state had the fastest growing cities with over 100,000 people (between 1990 and 1998)?

Answer:  Nevada
La Vegas grew by 56% (from 258,887 to 404,288 people) and Henderson City grew by 134% (from 64,948 to 152,717 people).
