I'm sorry Jon, I can't resist: tie it to the desk!

If your students are anything like mine, anything not firmly
fixed down tends to walk: we pass our mouse and keyboard
leads through the eye on the security chain padlock.

Loose items tend to be returned to the wrong place, not
necesarily stolen, but it's just as inconvenient.
