The Listowners are pleased to announce that we now have 2600 subscribers
from these 40 countries:

Anguilla, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Czech
Republic, Denmark, Finland, France , Germany, Great Britain Greece,
Guatemala, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy Kazakhstan,
Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland,
Portugal, Saint Lucia, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain,
Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, and Uruguay.

There have been some changes to the List's web page address. The WWW
site address is now:

   http://rdz.acor.org/lists/celiac/index.html

The old St. Johns URL can be used until 1 July. But updates to
reference files are being made only at the new address.

Some subscribers obtained automatic updates of files from our old
listserve address of SJUVM.STJOHNS.EDU; that feature has been disabled
with the complete shutdown of that machine.

These changes will not have any impact upon the majority of subscribers.

The majority of reference files are now available in rich text format
(RTF), a format that most word processors can read. This file type
will allow most PC and MAC users the ability to print the reference
files in an easy-to-read and paper-saving manner for handing to medical
professionals or your family. The files are available from the WWW site
at:

   http://rdz.acor.org/lists/celiac/basic.html

Our new members are reminded that it is important to review the
reference files or to perform a logfile search before requesting
information in a post to the list. This technique of first checking for
a previous post on the desired subject helps in reducing the volume of
mail.

The Listowners do not desire to curtail discussion on CD, DH, or the GF
diet. Our goal is to avoid having questions posted that were recently
asked and answered or which are covered in the reference files. To get
a list of the available reference files, including a short description
of each, send a note to [log in to unmask] containing this
line:

   GET CELIAC FILEDESC

Or visit the web page listed above.

It is important to include your general location (city, state/province if
applicable, country) when talking about a product. Brand names can have
different ingredients around the world.

Listserve is a text based e-mail system. The use of fancy formatting in
messages is not supported and results in the wasting of valuable disk
space at our host. The type of message sent is generally an option that
you can set in your mail program. Set your program to "plain text" and
turn off "mime", "html", and "quoted printable" options.

When replying to the poster or the List, please quote two or three lines
of the messages to allow easy understanding of the discussion. The
common default setting is to append the complete text at the beginning
or end of the reply, which takes up extra space and creates additional
work in the summary process.

For the Listowners,
