Hello helpful people:
When trying to boot from a hard disk, I get a message
"boot 2". This comes right after the "verifying DMI pool"
message. If I press any keyboard key, I get a few dots
after the "boot 2" message, followed by another "boot 2" message.
The drive should boot to dos 6.22.
--I fdisked and formatted the drive
--I reinstalled dos 6.22 files
-- I ran scandisk on the drive--did not find a problem.
--When booting from the A: drive, I can access drive C:,
and run a dir command.
--I have another exact same hard drive, which boots up
ok, and the jumper settings on each hard drive are the
same. I use removable hard drive bays, and I even switched
them to make sure there was no problem with one of them.
--I sysed the drive using a dos 6.22 boot disk.
--CMOS settings is on autodetect, and if I put the exact
same make and model of drive in, the drive boots up ok.
--If the drive is defective, how come scandisk finds no
problem?
--Hard disk is a quantum fireball 3.5Gig
Thanks for any ideas. Brad Britton
