We recently had our two-yr-old son test (a RAST test) for milk allergy. As
I suspected since he was five months, he's allergic. He now has an Epi-pen
junior and we carry Benadryl everywhere we go.

I'm just beginning to learn all there is to know about milk allergies, the
most important of which is many people--including in the medical
profession--underestimate the seriousness of food allergies.

My question is this: So far we have dealt just with my son's pediatrician
on this. Do we need to see an allergy specialist? Can an allergist help us
more than a pediatrician? Is there much more we can do besides avoid
milk/milk products, and carry the Epi-pen? The pediatrician has stated
several times that he's only seen a couple of cases this severe.
