Dairy Product Alert - 3/11/98

HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK CHOCOLATE

The Hershey Chocolate Company has announced that it will reformulate its
Special Dark Chocolate bar to include dairy components. This product's
change of status from Pareve to Dairy will be reflected on packaging with
the incorporation of the OU-D designation.

The above information was confirmed by the following sources:
        Kashrut.com - A independent Kashrut information source (3/7)
The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregation (3/10)
THE YERUSHALAYIM NETWORK courtesy of The Orthodox Union (3/11)
        Hershey Chocolate Company - (3/12)

As of 3/11/98 Non-Dairy:Something to Moo About is advising all persons with
allergies to milk proteins to not ingest HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK CHOCOLATE.

Non-Dairy: Something to Moo About contacted Hershey in regards to his
product change and John Long confirmed that dairy will be added to this
bar. Hershey feels it will improve the bar by making it creamer and more
flavorful. The label will have a burst in the front saying "New Creamer
Taste" and the ingredient listing will also reflect the change. They will
begin manufacturing this new formula in April 1998. Even though this
product isn't due to be on the market till May we recommend, for safety
reasons, to no longer purchase this product as of 3/11/98.

If you would like to voice your opinion on this change please call
Hershey's customer relations line at 1-800-468-1714 or e-mail them at

We would like to thank Kashrut.com (http://www.kashrut.com) for first
bringing this to our attention. If you would like to have other kosher
product change information e-mailed to you please see there site for
information on this free service.

To Your Family's Health,
