I may want to suggest your friend contact the embassies of the countries
mentioned. Telephone information and other relevant materials relating to
her field of research may be available.  Furthermore, just for curiosity,
is your friend going to research both the "local" architect ( I mean those
who build our bamboo huts and mud pavilions?) and the "book" ones?

dear all,

i hope this email finds you well. a friend of mine, judy chung, will be
travelling to uganda, nigeria, liberia, congo-kinshasa and brazzaville,
cote d'ivoire and ghana this fall.  the purpose of her trip is to research
the effects of economic development on urbanization. she would like to meet
with architects, urban planners, civil engineers and any persons who may be
involved in the field. if you have contacts in the above mentioned
