Dear list members, while working on my gf food list webpage
I came across some conflicting information on the gf status
of Boston Market menu items. I decided to call and speak with
someone myself. It turns out that the gluten free list that
they mail out includes some items which contain caramel color
or mono & diglicerides of an unknown source. They put some
footnotes on their list specifying this, but apparently some
people didn't notice these footnotes and have mistakenly
assummed that the products are 100% safe...which they are NOT.

The last time the list was changed was in March of 1998. They
change the list the moment the recipes change. The current
BOSTON MARKET GF list is as follows:

Rotisserie Chicken
Butternut Squash
Creamed Spinach
Mashed Potatoes(WITHOUT gravy)
Zucchini Marinara
Steamed Veggies
Fruit Salad
Cranberry Relish
Jumpin Juice Squares(gelatin)

Please note at this time the following product contains a
caramel color of an unknown source, and therefore MAY CONTAIN
GLUTEN:

1. Baked Beans

Also note at this time the following products contain mono &
diglicerides of an unknown source, and therefore MAY CONTAIN
GLUTEN:

1. Whole Kernel Corn
2. Hot Cinnamon Apples
3. New Potatoes
4. Turkey Breast Rotisserie

All of their other products contain gluten. The only reason
they list the questionable items on the gluten free list is
because they have been told by some customers that they are
willing to take a chance eating them since they may or may not
contain gluten.

I would not risk eating them. But that is up to each individual
to determine what risk their are willing to take.

The phone number to call is 800-365-7000 if you have questions
or would like a personal copy of their gf list.

Feel free to publish this information mentioning the source. Thanks.
