ABOUT THE AUTHOR
PAUL H. BLACK is Professor of Microbiology and Medicine and was Chairman of
the Department of Microbiology for 14 years at Boston University Medical
School. He attended Dartmouth College and received his M.D. from Columbia
University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Black trained in medicine
and infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital and in virology and
immunology in the laboratory of Wallace Rowe and Robert Huebner at the
National Institutes of Health. He became interested in psychoneuroimmunology
while he was Director of the Cancer Center at Boston University Medical
School.
Research supported by grant F91-33, The Whitehall Foundation, Inc., Palm
Beach.
