Hello,
Is it possible to use an external CD-R drive (burner) with a good laptop?
Most of those drivers are of course made to be working with SCSI/EIDE
and some others are made for parallel ports.
Parallel ports on laptops are a problem because all peripherals are
made to be connected to parallel ports and this might create enormous
conflicts. ( Zip drives, printers, cameras, scanners, MIDI interfaces
snappy's etc...:real nightmares!)
I noticed that some new laptops have now USB ports build in. Unused!
Isn't there any CD-R drives that can be hooked on one of those ports?
A pentium 266Mhz laptop with 64 Megs Ram and 3 Gigs HD should
do the job as well as a normal desktop? or am I missing something?
Thanks for any help
Regards
