Actually, I see quite a few pro-meat advertisements in the
dominant media.  "Beef -- It's what's for dinner," or "Beef --
for real people," or "Beef -- It's what you want" ads on
television and in magazines.  And although I have seen them in
the last couple of months, I remember the "Pork -- the other
white meat," ad campaign.  Over the years there has been no
shortage of Purdue chicken ads in the US, to the point where
Frank Purdue is a cultural icon.

There are plenty of Outback Steak House commercials, too.

The cereal companies compete savagely *against each other* for
market share and name recognition.  Meat producing companies have
not done that, with the exception of Purdue.
