Interesting question. Jonathan (one year old) has been right on target or early
in all of his developmental skills. However, this is NOT the norm I have been
told by his nephrologists. Most ( a lot) of children with chronic renal failure
don't develop well at all and I would assume that it is partly due to
malnutrition (children with CRF don't have great appetites or metabolize food the
same as others). So we have been very lucky so far that he has enough kidney
function to keep him active.
