More important, I think, is that there were no superimposed constructs as to
eating all vegetables and no animals at that time...and I can imagine these
people trying just about everything that became available---and learning to go
back to some and actively avoid other food sources---for reasons of taste or
poisoning or less severe ill effects. Year round is a long time.
