I would. I would do this to get a better idea of whether I ultimately
agreed with them or not.

Suppose I get into a debate with a low-fat advocate, and I throw every fact,
argument, and piece of evidence I can at him to show how he's mistaken. If
at the end of the day he has dismantled all my arguments and presented me
with better evidence for his case than I could provide for mine, I would
consider myself a resident of the low-fat camp. Of COURSE I would. How else
does it work?

This is why I am on this list. I want to be in the paleo camp. I am at
least as argumentative as Todd, I think. No one has mentioned it, as they
have in Todd's case, almost certainly because Todd's posts are more
frequent and much, much better than mine. What frosts me is that Todd is
also more diplomatic, selective, and generally positive in his posts than
I am in mine. This suggests to me that he was catching heat not because
he questions everything, but because he does it a little too well, and
makes some people uncomfortable.

Anyway, by letting me try to poke holes in certain claims that get made
in this forum, you people are supporting me. I'm sorry if I tire you,
Mary. I'm very grateful to have this forum.
